Residential noise complaints can be a real pain for individuals and families living with noisy neighbours or local entertainment venues. Assessing levels of noise, timing and identifying the noise has been made easier with the Noisy Neighbour Kit, a sound meter system designed to measure, monitor and record noise for easy analysis.
The kit is an acoustic measurement system dedicated to indoor and residential use with a powerful sound level meter and lockable, secure case. The sound meter comes with a USB socket for use with a USB memory stick to record data and audio.
The audio can be recorded manually using a remote trigger to start and stop recordings or the system can be set up to automatically record when the noise level goes above a set level. Audio recording sampling frequency can also be set to 12 kHz, 24 kHz or 48 kHz to allow for shorter, better quality recordings or longer, lower recordings.
The data recorded by the Noisy Neighbour system and the audio recordings can all be downloaded to a PC using the software provided for further analysis and report preparation. The software can also be used to set up the sound meter prior to measurements being taken.
All the instrumentation can be set up and locked inside the tough case. Only the microphone is exposed to measure the sound levels and capture the audio. An external LED indicator displays the current recording state. The case can be powered by internal batteries or via a mains adaptor.
