The colour-coded tool tags are small, extremely tough components attached to every tool providing a base on which each HAVmeter is magnetically attached. Information about the tool is contained within the tag. When a HAVmeter is attached to the tool tag the tool’s make and model, ID number and average vibration value is transferred.
A Tool Tag must be programmed with information about the tool it is being attached to. Buying a programmed Tool Tag from us means we will need certain information about the tool. We will request this information when dealing with your order. Alternatively un-programmed Tool Tags will need to be programmed by you. For this you will also need the Tag Programming PDA.
The information contained in the tool tag can be easily altered even when mounted to a tool ensuring tags can be kept up to date easily and allowing them to be transferred to different tools if necessary.
With the in-built RFID technology the tool tag can also serve as an asset management device. Tools can be scanned in or out of a central depot or site and each time a tool is used, the HAVmeter records how long any tool has been used. Such information is valuable when tool maintenance is to be carried out.
The tool tag also allows a company to keep up to day with quantity and location of tools, the movement of tools between sites and tool information can be easily scanned for security.
